Mancuma Dlamini lives in Lower Emfasini in Swaziland. He is a welder by trade but also tends 5 acres of land, where he cultivates maize and groundnuts. Mancuma's family of 7 relies on a river for irrigation, and a borehole for drinking water. Mancuma knows of many OVCs (orphans and vulnerable children) in his community where many adults have been lost to AIDS. In his GardenAfrica project garden he will be growing paw paw, mango, avo, cassava and sugar. GardenAfrica training is teaching him to plan his garden around the resources available to him, so that passers by can see and learn from what he is doing, and purchase seedlings from him for their own gardens.
